Mabel was born in Beroun, MN to Alfred and Viola Moen on September 29, 1927. She lived in Rock Creek before moving to Hinckley and graduated from Hinckley High School. She married Bill Rys in 1947. She was a proud legal secretary in the LeVander, Gillen & Miller Law Firm, a personal secretary to Governor LeVander and later secretary to Federal Judge Paul A. Magnuson retiring in 1993. Mabel was preceded in death by husband Bill, infant daughter Peggy and sisters Beatrice Walker and Shirley Schroeder. She is survived by 2 sons Jim (Nancy) of Minneapolis and Steve (Lynn) of Dillon CO, 2 grandchildren Joe and Kyla and brother Thor (Barbara) Moen. Funeral Service 11:00 a.m. Monday April 9th at AUGUSTANA LUTHERAN CHURCH, 1400 South Robert St West St Paul. Visitation 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. Monday at the church. Interment Ft Snelling National Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to Augustana Lutheran Church
